About Us

"Us" - we're the Hudock family. All of us have been or will be helping out with this online archival project, in one way or another. For example, that's my sister Jenny holding up the letterman's blanket, though you can't see her. She inherited it after my father, Jim Hudock, passed in May 2007, and was kind to share it with everyone. I'm going to be asking everyone in our family to send me pictures of what they have so this site can grow.

"Me" - I'm the blogger, Amy Hudock, who feels the need to archive all this material. My grandmother, Dorothy Hudock, made a collection of scrapbooks detailing the athletic careers of her children and her husband. I'm sharing material from the scrapbooks here because I've noticed a rather unpleasant trend. Not long after my dad passed away, I could search for his name on the web and find tons of stuff. Not so now. But my grandmother's scrapbooks can fix that.

I inherited the scrapbooks, and if they simply sit in storage, they are not doing their jobs. Only I would see them. My grandmother's scrapbooks were meant to help the whole family remember, so, I'm allowing them to do that. I especially want my daughter, Sarah, to have these records of her beloved Papa, who called her his little "frog."But as I started scanning these images, I realized that other folks might like to see this. So, look around. I hope you see something that reminds you, surprises you, and inspires you.
